Happy New Year!!! 2013 has been amazing for Kirsten Lee Photography and so thankful and blessed for all my clients. I'm always humbled by this job! I love what I do and so grateful that people trust me to be their family photographer. I thought it would be fun to do a little Year in Review just like last year. Of course, it's so hard for me to choose so I decided to do Top 13 in 2013. These images are just a few of the many awesome sessions I had this year. I love how images tell a story so bare with me if I get a little wordy below. :) First a glimpse at almost all my awesome sessions for 2013...over 50 sessions this year! Decided to go in order of images taken. :) Starting with last January! 13. Last January I had the pleasure of photographing {and snuggling} with my own nephew. A whole weekend spending it with him, my brother, and sister-in-law. Besides the snuggles, cuddles, and spoiling, it was such a great weekend capturing them on camera. As I look back at the images now, it's so hard to believe he is almost one! And, bitter sweet because they moved to South Korea this summer. Thank goodness for FaceTime! Love the connection between baby and mama here. 12. I started photographing Miss. Vivienne when she was in her mommy's belly. Loved that I was able to capture her whole first year. This was her 6 month session at her grandparents house. Crazy that it was 70s in January! Gotta love the south. Their patio and backyard was a photographer's dream! Aren't her eyes and skin perfect?!? 11. So these two are really a tie and are from the same session. I had the pleasure of doing a Lifestyle Session for the Dickinson Family last spring. You know me and telling stories!!! Their whole session was awesome. Top image of Daddy and Daughter is them reading the bible. Cracks me up since her Daddy is a preacher. :) And of course LOVE the one of mommy and daughter below. Perfect moments captured. 10. Crazy that I love extended family sessions?!? I'm gonna start calling them Grandparent Sessions since its all about them right?!? I love the "big family hug pose", yep I'm gonna start using that term as an official pose. :) 9. This summer I had the pleasure of photographing this awesome family in Chicago! Yep, thankful for awesome connections that I got to shoot there while I was visiting family. So fun to do a session in a new location. This place was amazing! These kids rocked their session and cracked me up. :) 8. Also while in Chicago, I photographed Tucker. Isn't he adorable? My husband's cousin was getting married and they wanted their first "family photo" together with Tucker. We had a blast and Tucker was such a good boy! Pet photographer maybe?!?! 7. Oh Miss. Clara. She decided to arrive 4 weeks early for her parents but was a perfect bundle of joy. Her nursery was adorable and had amazing toys from when her parents were little. So happy that mom decided to be in a few pictures at the end. These are just priceless. I'm a sucker for a great black and white. The best part is I get to see her every 3 months for photos! :) 6. Mr. Callan....doesn't he make you smile? Just like Clara, Callan is one of my milestone babies so I get to see him every 3 months as well. This was at his 3 month milestone session where his smiles were all for his mommy. He also has two adorable sisters that just love him to pieces. 5. Oh sunset sessions...my favorite! This session was so much fun since we took the family's golf cart and drove all around their neighborhood and golf course. So fun to just find an awesome spot and stop along the way. A few days before the session, my client {also one of my bffs} and I drove around to check it all out. We found this bridge and new it would be perfect at sunset!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!! 4. This sweet girl wasn't too sure about me at first but after having her Mom snuggle with her we got some priceless images. Those parent/child images to me are the most timeless images you can have. They grow up so fast. Her and her whole family were so adorable. 3. I'm so use to photographing little kids that it was refreshing to see the West Family again!! They were a blast to work with, hilarious, and loved their outfits choices for their session. I was so humbled that they choose me to be their family photographer since they live in Montgomery and drove a whole two hours to see me. 2. I was so honored when Kerri from Freckle Face Photography asked me to do a photo exchange with her family and mine. We ended up with great weather, sunset, and an awesome location. It is so fun to have a great network of photographers around and to have fun playing around. I won't get all technical on you, but I have been practicing to get this look in camera and I nailed it on this shot! :) 1. This year, I was accepted to be a Red Thread Photographer. It's such a great organization to help families who are adopting find photographers in their area. I had my first red thread session this fall and it was pretty fabulous!! I ended up filling in for another photographer at the last minute and so glad I was able to help her and the Pegg Family. So thankful for an amazing 2013 and can't wait for 2014!! I have some great goals and plans for Kirsten Lee Photography in 2014. Thank you to all my awesome clients for allowing me to be your family photographer.
