How do I get started? You've booked your session and now you're thinking...what do I wear?!?! Take a few minutes to check out my What to Wear Guide! Here are some helpful tips to get you started: 1. What is your style? You want to choose clothes for you and/or your family that makes you, YOU! I want you to feel fabulous and comfortable. Think about what you like to wear. Is it classy, traditional, casual, or even a little bit of sparkle! 2. You want to compliment each other NOT match! For my family sessions, you want to compliment each other but not be identical to each other. Choose a few colors that compliment each other and then mix and coordinate outfits to fit together. Don't be afraid to mix patterns such as floral patterns with strips! 3. Layers, layers, layers! This can work for both warm and cool weather! Adding a vest, jacket, sweater, or even a shirt over your top can add a little extra pop with your outfit. You can mix and match colors or even patterns with layers. Does everyone need to be in layers? No but if 1 or 2 of your family members are in layers, this will help with complimenting each other versus just matching. For my senior sessions, this can be applied as well. Adding that adorable cropped jacket, Letterman jacket, or even a long sweater. 4. Accessories make the details! This isn't just for the ladies! Promise. Yes, jewelry can pull an outfit together BUT also your shoes can too! This applies to EVERYONE in your family. It sounds silly but make sure each person in your family has shoes that fit their outfit. The little details matter. Make sure to think about jewelry, shoes, and belts! Does your child always wear a hat? Yes? Then bring it! What styles are IN?
As we all know, styles come and go! Depending on your age, you may like different clothes. One thing I do suggest is letting the members of your family be them selves. I know that may be hard to do but it really allows their personality shine when they feel great.
Here are some popular styles that I find photograph GREAT! 1. Flowy dresses 2. Stylish Jeans - baggy, ripped, and/or skinny! 3. Long Cardigan sweaters 4. Cropped Jackets or vest 5. in style sneakers or shoes 6. Henley shirt for Men/Boys 11. Rompers 12. pastel jeans {for spring!} Where do I find the latest styles and inspiration?
