A little bit about your teacher!
I've been in the photography business now for over 13 years. It has been such a blessing to photograph many children, seniors, and families in my community. I've been teaching others how to use their camera for over 5 years and I LOVE it!

Mindy said: To be completely honest, I loved the asymmetry aspect of pictures-not having your main focal point at the center of each photograph. I had never looked at pictures that way before, and I have loved practicing this technique at home.
When asked what would you tell your friend about the class, Angel said: I would say "Sally, you should come take this camera class with me, it's fun no pressure learning, Kirsten doesn't make you feel like the dumbest person in the room, she is kind, normal, and very encouraging."
Sam said "You did an excellent job of teaching the class to people with multiple skill levels."

Frequently Asked Questions
1. What if I've NEVER used my camera before?
That is okay!! That is what my beginner class is for. We start from the very beginning on how to take our lens on and off, focusing images, and what all the other buttons mean on your camera.
2. "I'm SO NERVOUS and afraid I can't keep up!"
Well, don't be nervous!! I'm human just like you. In my beginner camera class we break it down where we learn a new concept and then practice it. One step at a time! As well, you can ask TONS of questions and I'll be there to help you!
3. What if my camera is old?
As long as your DSLR camera works with at least 1 lens you should be good to go! You are always welcome to email me at [email protected] to make sure. Peace of mind always helps calm the nerves.
4. My child loves photography. Can they take the class?
Absolutely!! I do allow children 10 years and older to take my in-person classes. If they are ages 10-15 years of age, they do need an adult over 18 to join them. Ages 16 and up do not need an adult with them.
5. What if I forget everything you taught me once the class is over?
I provide workbooks for you to take notes during class. It is a great tool for you to refer back to. When learning something new, it is always good to look back at your notes to digest what you've learned. As well, I have a private Facebook Group just for my camera class alumni! This is a small community of photography loving people. You can share images and ask questions!
6. I'm a professional photographer, is this class for me?
Both my beginner and intermediate camera classes are geared towards people who are just starting their journey in photography. My intermediate class teaches those that are wanting to take the next steps on learning to photograph in manual mode. These classes are not geared towards professional photographers. If you consider yourself professional or advanced, you're welcome to contact me about 1:1 mentoring.
7. I'm interested in taking your in-person group class? When will those classes be available?
I offer my beginner and intermediate classes in-person a few times a year. Make sure you're on my email list so you'll get an email when the dates open!
8. I purchased a mirrorless camera! Can I still take your camera class?
Of course! Both beginner and intermediate classes work with a mirrorless camera. I always tell everyone to bring their camera manual if you may need it!
